Sunday June 7th 7.00pm The First Heat of our UK Online Slam Championship saw Winner Marly Speaks and Runner Up Shian Denovan progress to the Grand Final in December with Marly also taking the £75 prize. Heat 2 is now open for entries. The slam will be run live on Zoom following the traditional slam format over three rounds with 15 poets competing to a three minute time limit for a winner takes all prize of £75 and the winner and runner up also being entered into our Grand Final in December to discover the 1st Oooh Beehive UK Online Slam Champion. Full rules will be posted shortly. The slam is open to any UK based poets, including previous competitors (excluding finalists) and you can enter by leaving a comment on the event, messaging Oooh Beehive, messaging Clive Oseman or Nick Lovell on FB or Emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Entries close at 12 noon Sunday 31st May 2020 and due to the phenomenal interest we have had in the championship, the majority of competitors will be chosen by two live draws held on Zoom on Sunday 31st May 2020. These draws are only to select the 15 competitors and will not reflect order of performance in the Heat on Sunday 7th June. The first 3 places in the slam automatically go to the three reserves who were not called upon in Heat 1. If you entered your name in the draw for heat 1 but were not drawn as a competitor then your name will be automatically entered into the draw for the next 7 places in the slam unless you notify us otherwise. This will be the first draw held on Sun 31st May. The last 5 competitors in the slam will be drawn from a pool that includes anyone unsuccessful in the first draw and all new entries for Heat 2. There will also be 5 reserves drawn from the second pool. This will be the second draw held on Sun 31st May.
